Two neighbors came before Jupiter and prayed him to grant their hearts’ desire. Now the one was full of greed, and the other eaten up with envy. So to punish them both, Jupiter granted that each might have whatever he wished for himself, ut only on condition that his neighbor had twice as much. The greedy man prayed to have a room full of gold. No sooner said than done; but all his joy was turned to grief when he found that his neighbor had two rooms full of the precious metal. Then came the turn of the Envious man, who could not bear to think that his neighbor had any joy at all. So he prayed that he might have one of his own eyes put out, by which means his companion would become totally blind.
Adapted from an Aesop Fable.

Materialism, greed, and envy are soul-crushers that imprison many among us. Why do we value human worth by what a joker got on his back or in his crib? Why do we assess a person’s value by the car they rolling in?
We put folks in boxes because we do not have the time to investigate each and everyone we come in contact with. Unfortunately, many weigh exterior features above personality traits such as honesty, compassion, and geniuneness. Until jokers come correct and embrace what makes us special and worthy (which is God), they gonna be chasing the dollars down the road to misery.
Well said Peeps. Glad you’re back from your sabatical.
