I’m hoping every one brought the New Year in with joy and love! As I reflect upon last year and look forward to this new year, I am filled with ideas and goals for the upcoming year. I am also filled with a few sorrows for those things I was not able to accomplish last year. As I look for the answers, spirit led me to re-post a post I penned last year. . . with a few amendments. ![]()
As I visited my fellow bloggers this morning. . . most of whom have a spiritual connection in some manner; if not spiritual, most of those I encounter are in search of something . . . . I suppose, because I am such, I migrate to such. But, I realize that there are those who live each day and never, ever question such unanswerable puzzles as “What is the Purpose of Life.”
Children go from day to day, creating, imagining, loving and playing. . . yet they never question such deep, mind twisting questions. Although very inquisitive, children never question such nonsense. I imagine my grandchild’s eye brows would rise should I ask him such a question. He would most likely say – “you’re playing nanna, ha ha” and continue building a Lego ville to touch the ceiling.
So, today I question myself. Why must I find purpose? Is there really a Purpose for my life?
Have you ever given a gift to someone just because you wanted that individual to have it . . . no strings attached. . .
If you have, then you know that once you give the gift with no strings attached, you don’t really care what they do with it; it is given with love for them to do whatever they choose to do with it. There is no need for thank you’s; no acknowledgments or kudos, . . . just something you chose to give, just because you wanted that individual or entity to have it.
Perhaps life is just that. . . a wonderful gift from our creator to do just what we want to do with it. . . no strings attached.
Today I will enjoy life with the enthusiasm of a child, with no set agendas or purposes (as they change, anyway, ya think??), but simply allow life to unfold and follow my spirit from moment to moment!
What do you think, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Quote for the Day: My purpose in life is to allow my spirit to guide me from one moment to the next, in love. ~CordieB

A child seems to dream its life into existance with each and every moment. Feeling what it is like to be a child points to feeling fully the energy that surrounds us in the moment. We process feelings. This could be the purpose we all fail to see. Nothing else may actually matter, unless we choose to make it matter.
Thanks for your thoughts, Bern! So true, children do seem to “dream life into existence each and every moment.” Life’s experiences and we adults have the tendency to take the magic away from the children by insisting they “grow up.” Perhaps, we need to “grow down” to again experience the magic in each moment of life!
Peace, Light and Love, C.
HI CORDIE- wonderful reflections. thank you. I will tell you this, about 8 years ago I was on a spiritual retreat/workshop for three days. O the first day we were asked what we were working on, towards, etc. Folks wrote many things as I am sure you can imagine. I wrote the following: – “I HAVE ARRIVED”. People were perplexed and I explained that I was at a point in my life where I was preserving all that I am/have and sharing the gifts of self with others, in my family, at work, with friends, neighbors and so forth. I had come to know that my truth had purpose, which was ‘me’ and that to be broken and poured out so others could have hope was the truer meaning of Eucharist. And so my purpose is my truth shared – that is all any of us have – is our own truth to give. Amen.
Love and truth
Gail
peace…..
High, Gail. I had to do research on the word Eucharist before responding to this post. Although I’m a Christian, I’m not familiar with many terms from the Catholic faith. So your response has been a learning experience for me. Thank You. Yes, I do believe giving hope to other people is the truer meaning of Eucharist; and that you do each day. Keep hope alive, my sister – and I will do my best to do the same. Have a wonderful day!
while I reflected on my life before the New Year came in. I thought about all the beautiful places I have traveled to around the world and wonderful people I have met and established a friendship/love with despite the differences. That our creator Loves all of us just the way we are. I decided not to make any particular resolutions this year. I am going to continue to keep walking my path like I have been doing and as the path breaks me down and then strengthens me I will continue to give thanks.
Happy New Year Cordie
You have such a wonderful heart, Marie. I didn’t make any resolutions this year, either. I’ll just see how life unfolds – whatever happens is meant to be. PLL, C.
children are to be envied, their joyfulness in each moment,
their ability to adapt and bounce back so quickly and most
of all their capacity to forgive.
I believe we all have a purpose, however, not just one purpose,
and often as we grow, or complete one that purpose we are
to move onto the next.
happy creative new year, cordie!
Yes, children are so wonderful in their capacities. We still have the loving capacity of a child; it’s just that our fears have overshadowed our child like energies. I’m hoping for a fear free 2010!
Blessings Nadge!
Cordi,
This is a great re-post. We do tend to over think the meaning/purpose of life. I believe this is because we forget what we knew as a child, we become lost in the ego and we then begin to question the why’s of life. We are here for a purpose and when we are being our authentic self, like a child we then no longer have a desire to ask these questions, for we remember to simply be. Happy New Year my friend. Be in love, be well and be wise.
Yes, Mark. Often we become lost in the ego; and there are other times whereas fear almost chokes us. We must strive to be….fear free!
Blessings, Mark!
I like this re-post CordieB..I agree we over think it. We should just move forward in the now and “it” will unfold. I also believe the answers are given to us all the time if we are being REAL and opening our eyes and hearts to the messages and confirmations that come. Sometimes it can be through the words of another..like your beautiful ones I found today.
Happy New Year..Happy New Decade!!
Love, light, and laughter,
~g-h (aka Susan)
Thanks, Gypsy Heart! Yes, we must open our hearts to hear the messages…. They may be whispered, but they are not silent!
Blessings, Gypsy Heart!
Cordie,
Blessings to you. Jan from Awake is Good and Awakened Living.e
I really appreciate your comments on my blog and hope that the 28-Day Meditation Challenge is going well for you. I love your noticings here. I think you are on to something. Why not be you, the unique version that the Creator has crafted. Sometimes I think we strive so hard. If each of us let go of the striving and settled into who we naturally are—our essence–divinely sourced beings of innate beauty and grace, we would be living our purpose…At least that is my take on life.
I’ve learned a lot about meditation since you started this great challenge! I knew very little about meditation…now each day I look forward to another tool to help me meditate. I do have trouble stilling my body and my mind…. I’m always wanting to do something … But I’m trying!
Blessings, Jan!
Every moment, your puspose is how you choose to sense it. Some people sense purpose evolves with their remembering about whay they exist as they do right now. Happy Moments & blessings!
So true, Liara! We are a dynamic species–very complex yet very simple all the same. Happy moments and blessings back at ya! And, happy New Year too!!!
CordieB, everyone you choose to connect with is encouraging you to remember new layers of what you are while also inspiring you to let go of misplaced beliefs of self-views that no longer suit how you feel. It is a pleasure to connect with you. We are all mirror images of each other’s souls on some level, prompting and triggering revelations.
