Spiritual Riddle – My Distant Lover
This nostalgic lover has left me…oh, so many times…
Through much laughter and tears… many riddles and rhymes…
Though often I’ve tried mighty hard to hold on to him tight—
Always he departed before the glow of moon light
At times when he left, I felt greatly relieved…
Other times I’ve longed for him; passionately I grieved
Whether I choose to remember or opt to forget
The times we’ve shared, there’s no need for regret…
Each time he leaves, he’s never, ever the same…
Some nights leaving with joy…other nights filled with pain…
~~A gift of pure sunshine…a blanket of rain~~
And each time he vanquishes into mystic descent
He hands me a most cherished Present…
Though I can never hold onto him past the brink of dawn
Forever he leaves me with the will to move on…
I feel the breath of his whisper – yet he starves me of touch
Knowing our destiny has already been written as such….
Vanishing into the mist, leaving me with a new day!
Whilst I love, whilst I live!
Whilst I lust, whilst I pray!
He is ever so close–yet so far away…
Who is He… ? (Click below for riddle answer)

HI CORDIE-
Oh my, we all have lost loves, lovers…………that are the spirit of our yesterdays. I love that I can go back there and remember, feel, re-live even the hurt – it is all part of the love. And today and for twenty years of todays I have a spirit ever present – we live and love every moment of every day. And in that we are each free to remember our love spirits of yesterday.
Love to you
Gailpeace……
Good morning Gail. Thanks for your wonderful comment. Actually, in this riddle, I’m not actually referringto a lover or lovers per se, I’m refering to all my yesterdays – which have gone, never to return. I’m attempting to capture the duality of our ‘affair’ with “yesterday! How we think of yesterdays, and the bittersweatness of our past which gives us a foundation for our present and hope for our tomorrows.
Blessings, Gail.
CordieB.
this is a test
Love it. Reminds me a little of some of the evocative riddles posed in “Lord of the Rings”.
Yesterday and tomorrow enjoy a special status that the present is inelgible to receive. In the present moment, the here and now, combining “now” and “here” makes “nowhere”, as in “there’s nowhere you can be that isn’t where you’re meant to be” (From the the lyrics to the Beatles’ song “all you need is love”

Mastermistery, wow what intruiging insight. You always have a way of broadening my perspective. Thanks for that! Things that make me say, “oph.” (I like being challenged in that manner) Every time I think I’m present, a second from the future passes by and moves behind me.
Blessings my intellectual friend!
Well done once again! Yesterday is an easy place to become lost in. Interesting how things look so different as time blurs the edges of our memories.
Some people choose to believe everything happens for the best and move on. That is, they sense that every encounter and experience is a teacher for as long as it lasts. They do not attach. They sense value in letting go. These people do not to prolong or get nostalgic about feelings of discomfort or negativity. Ask yourself what prompts you to desire to create feelings that lower your energy vibration and distract you from the unlimited being of unconditional love you are.
Love what you have here, Cordieb. Glad to see you’re still creating amazing works of inspiration. Keep it up. Love the quote by Thomas Edison, btw. Very good for me to read right now.
