I am all knowing, yet humble; not boisterous or loud
I am secure in my stead; not untrusting or jealous
I keep no scores of bad deeds; I’m forgiving….unrebellious
I am thankful for mine; of your’s I’m not envious
I don’t hold resentment to ferment my soul…
In-line with my spirit, it is compassion I hold!
I’m not judgmental; I allow others to be…
That which they are; so their souls might be free
Knowing we all are created from the same mighty force
Good, bad or indifferent; of the same Holy source!
I rejoice in the truth; refrain from deception…
Persevere with great hope, amid pain or rejection.
Not easily angered, remaining kind and protective…
Willing to look closely at life from another’s perspective.
I am the foundation of all Creation thereof…
I’m the most powerful, unfailing, Spirit of all
…I Am the Spirit of Love…
~Written by CordieB, Inspired by 1st Corinthian’s 13 and of course….. Love.
Quote for the Day: When I was a child, I talked like a child; I thought like a child; I reasoned like a child. As I grew, I put childish ways behind me. Then I saw but a poor reflection, as in a mirror. Now I see face to face. Then, I knew only in part. Now I know fully and I am fully known.
And now these three remain…
Faith
Hope
Love
But the greatest of these is…
LOVE
~1 Corinthians 13, The Bible
Another Quote: Knowing is realizing we don’t know it all ~CordieB.
When we are down in the Valley of darkness and confusion
And life appears to be an endless delusion
This is the time, when we must stop, drop and be still
Listen for the answers; release all self will
When we are down in the Valley of Calamity
And troubles roll in like a raging sea
These are the times we must quiet our voices and actions
Await patiently for the answers, avoid any reactions
When we are down in the Valley and our hearts seem to bleed
And our emotions are in turmoil; lay still and take heed
to the answers that come, with the stillness of life
Listen for wisdom of truth; avoid stress and strife
The answers won’t come when we’re searching too hard;
they are never revealed when our heart is onguard
It’s only when our mind is clear from all tumultuous sources
That we hear the sweet revolution of truth whispered in silent voices
We must gaze into the cracked mirror to see what we create
We must probe our inner thoughts; because thoughts bring forth fate
We must search our desires; we must examine our fears
In stillness only will we discover the true cause of our tears
Still waters run deep; they allow us to see
the reflection of life looking back at the real me
Troubles waters only reflect an untruthful distortion
Turbulent waves only give forth a reflected contortion
Of the realness and allness that sent us into the valley
of darkness and confusion from unrealized reality
Of those things that God instructs from the difficult lessons
in humility that yields wisdom that blossoms into our blessings
This is an update from a post I wrote last year – I’ve added and deleted some of my thanks givings from last year… As you can see, I’ve been blessed throughout the year. Also, I present to you a riddle to help exercise the thankful brain.
1. Today I am thankful that my pain is subsiding. pain is gone!
2. Today I am thankful that I have a good man who deals with my pain with me in a supporting, loving manner.
3. Today I am thankful that my children are doing well.
4. Today I am thankful for the warmth of the summer.
5. Today I am thankful that my fever is subsiding I can’t even remember the fever I spoke of last year.
6. Today I am thankful for another year to live and love and that nothing is constant but change (Added today, July 15th, 2010)
What were you thankful for last year this time? What are you thankful for Today?
I am standing by the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch until at last she hangs like a peck of white cloud
just where the sun and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says :
- ‘There she goes!
Gone where?
Gone from my sight – that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar
as she was when she left my side
and just as able to bear her load of living freight
to the places of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says:
- ‘There she goes! ‘,
there are other eyes watching her coming to shore,
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout : - ‘Here she comes!’

Ever notice how ships going out to sea appear to get smaller and smaller and eventually disappear from our sight altogether? This is because as something goes away from us, it shrinks on the horizon and in the end, the horizon consumes it and it disappears altogether. The ship is still sailing on, we just can no longer see it. However, it is there, and it is still steaming ahead.
As the ship disappears from us, it is slowly appearing to those on the other side of the world. To us, it gets smaller and smaller and not much more than a dot on the horizon. However, to those on the other side of the world, it grows and grows, and eventually appears!
As it disappears from our sight, it reappears in someone else’s!
The bible says,”when we are absent from the body, we are present with the Lord [2 Corinthians 5:8.]
Today I am thinking of ma and I am sad. However, I know .. although she has sailed away from us and has gone from our mist, she is just now appearing to Jesus and all the folks in her new home. What a glorious arrival that must be! Ma’s spirit is free from the ailments of the earthly body, pain free, sorrow free, and just free! Can you imagine the joy of freedom from earthly ailments of the body as she floats on into her new home to once again meet with those love ones who have already departed these shores! What a day of rejoicing it must be!
In memory of Martha Williams, “ma” a most loving woman who was always like a mother to me. Ma took sail and left earthly shores around 2:30 this afternoon. I know she has sailed on to the other side and many love ones are waving her in, as they see her coming home. I can see them jubilantly shouting…here she comes, as she jubilantly shouts back, Ship Ahoy!

The following poem was written in response to Simply Snicker’s poetry prompt. This week’s (Through May 10th) prompt prompts us to use the words, Jeer , Jump and Just in our poems.
Also, we are celebrating the life of American pop artist Keith Haring , who was born on May 4, 1958. A sample of his wonderful art is shown above. Also, visit his site. He was a most wonderful artist.
In light of the light-hearted, yet meaningful and deeply spiritual, nature of Keith Haring’s art. .. I thought I’d try a little light hearted poetry to accompany his work. Of course a spiritual lesson is spinned in the words too–I think. Anywho…
Jump Back Juicy
Jump back Juicy, have no fear
Just becuz they jab and jeer

Jump back Juicy, dry those eyes

I looked to the heavens, and what did I see….
The wonders of eternity, looking back up at me . . .
I looked to the skies and what did I see…
The vastness of infinity, empowering me
I gazed at the stars…and what did I see…
The miracle of creation shining back up at me…
I smiled at the man in the moon…and what did I see…
A sphere in perfect suspension, smiling right back at me…
Sometimes, the unknown abyss manifests possibilities
Familiarization, though comforting, often restricts creativities

The following poem was inspired by Sunday Scribblings , writing prompt # 148, on regret. "Got any? Things you wish you’d done differently? Things you wish you’d said or not said? Things you want to be sure to do and say now so that you don’t end up with regrets?"
Eternal Regret -I Forgive Myself; but Can’t Forget~By CordieB
I’ve lived a lifetime of one regret
that’s dimmed with passing time; still yet
love and conscious won’t allow me to forget
And so I often trick my mind
to place sordid memories far behind
still… regret creeps in from time to time …
And then sometimes I even pretend
that day had actually not transcended
Imagine . . . starting anew again !!!
but reality knocks with raging force
thus I am left with grave remorse
perhaps that day changed my life’s course??
forever regretful, my heart still aches
but my God can NOT make mistakes
I convince myself for sanity’s sake
And so what IS, IS. What’s meant shall be
and that’s my whole tricked reality . . .
My life’s anchor through soul’s eternity . . .
Regret’s but a piece of life that’s made me, me . . .
~Written in memory of my dear mother, Marion Wallace, who died of a massive heart attack when I was 15, shortly after we’d had a terrible argument and I had left the house. I miss you, ma.
