Reflections of the Dawn
I stood upon the crest of the highest mountain, Calling down to those who dared to follow.
That I had attained the greatest of heights.
But a voice from above called out to me:
‘Rest not upon your foolish pride for you have taken but a single step. And as you await those to come, there are those that patiently wait for you.’
~By Daniel

The above poem is one of my favorites. Each time I read it, it humbles me. It reminds me, that for each level of understaniding or wisdom I think I may have, there are those who await me to reach another level. Really, didn’t most of think we had all the answers at 15 years old. As we reflect back, we knew so very little. It also reminds me of the Book of 1st Corinthians, Chapter 13, versus 9-12, when Paul prophesised:
9. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10. but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
We really know so little and have so much to learn. We will never know all about this life until we pass beyond this life. Each day, if we keep our minds and hearts open, we will learn something more, life will become clearer, we will become wiser. But, like that teenager, we must open our heart and minds to learn, we can’t think we already know it all. Also, as we grow older, we can’t hold on to that old philosophy, ”you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” We can’t continually hold on to old ways; we have to open our hearts, minds and spirits to the new. We have be refreshed. We have to keep an open mind. If someone didn’t keep an open mind, perhaps the world would still be flat. We can’t think we already know it all. We have to be open to all possibilities. Honestly, we don’t know the true outcome of any particular event, until the event is in the present tense.
So, stop stressing on the past; we can’t go back, we can simply learn from those experiences. Stop stressing on the future as we now imagine it will be. We can’t even imagine all that is in store for us – we might prophesize, but we are only looking through tinted glasses. One day it will all be crystal clear! So, for now, let’s just enjoy the wondrous gifts that God has given us. This is a day that the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Just Beyond the Horizon ~CordieB.
Upon her breast lie my hopes, dreams and plans
Loosely holding my destiny in slippery hands
Each morning I look forward to her creeping on in
And with her arrival, new beginnings begin
Immeasurable surprises and presents she bares…
Dreams of happiness, heartaches– a myriad of cares
I can never quite guess the present she’ll bring
I can never quite name the exact tune she will sing
We have Infinite possibilities and boundless potential
Yet our fate is neither promised nor inconsequential
I anticipate her advent with both joys and sorrow
Just beyond the horizon; she is Tomorrow

I’ve been very busy, but I wanted to take the time to repost the following riddle. Hope it nurtures your soul’s desire.
The following riddle was inspired by a dear friend and fellow blogger, Jodie who pens as Paisley , in her recent writing, entitled Life Shrinks and by fellow blogger and a man with much wisom, Mark (To Be Me), over at The Naked Soul in his recent article entitled, Take a Look at the Means to the End . Thanks for the inspiration friends!!!!

Come in, my love! Step into my parlor…
Allow me to paint you in technicolor…
My parlor is elegantly furnished in splendor fashion;
Whereas, I can transcend your deepest, passionate, passion
I will tantalize and dance with you throughout the night
All else will be placed on the back burner in my light
All goals will be reorganized for my sake
I may cause, love, happiness, jealousy, frustration, even heartbreak!
Most times until you capture me; or I you….
I will grow, I will infuse, I will magnify and brew
Yet sometimes as much as you crave my hot embrace
I simply dissipate from your thoughts–leave abruptly without a trace
And you shant even miss my crimson face…
It’s a funny thing that once I’m captured–once we converge
I’m reincarnated into another whimsical, soul stirring urge
Seems now you don’t find me as delightful as your mind imagined
Yet I’m still the same, wanting spirit that once pumped your adrenaline
As cold as Ice, as Hot as Fire……

This is a reposting. . . with a little extra . . . I thought about this after reading Why Paisley’s, "An Ordinary Man."
—
You may try to escape me, but I will always be just a whisper ahead of you; You do not truly understand that I mean you no harm. I am your constant companion, through thick and thin, through triumphs and failures.
You and I are so closely woven, that not even the greatest love or lust can ever really permanently separate us; Our magnetism is so strong, that I will eventually find you and you will eventually find me.
You may desire to change me, to mold me into what you would have me to be. There are times you may think you’ve suceeded. However, in retrospect, you would only be fooling yourself;
My mysterious illusion may cause you to go through great lenghths in a futile attempt to find out exactly what I’m all about.
You may run in the opposite direction in an attempt to flee from me, but aha… I am still just a tad ahead of you! In your haste, you will certainly slam right into me.
You may have even seen a glimpse of me in a distant world, but my charisma is such, that you really couldn’t tell if it was in fact me. I saw your glimpse and awaited quietly for you to catch up.
I have cried for you and smiled for you. You are all that I have. In the realness of it all, I totally depend upon you, for without you I cease to exist.
You may hate me, love me or fear me. But usually, you treat me with total disregard. I simply want you to embrace me. However, when all is said and done, you will definitely accept me.

What happens to our dreams deferred?
Unacted upon desires that are seldom heard . . .
Do they wash away with the crimson tide . . .
By the sands of time which can’t be defied?
What happens to our dreams alas. . .
which we sadly allow to simply pass. . .
or hold at bay for a better day
Do they await our return or simply fade away?
What happens when we put our dreams on a shelf?
Do they wait patiently for us to find ourselves
Or do they float away to an unknown dreamland
Where dreams deferred converge and reemerge once again . . .
In the heart and soul of another child-like spirit . .
with the heart to reclaim our neglected dream’s merit
Who will take the forsaken dream and caress its face
And abandon not its saving grace
Allow not our dream to become deferred
Unnurtured; Seldom talked to; Barely heard. . .
For without our love, passion, and concern
Our dream will whither; thus our heart will burn and yearn. . .
Yet the dream will one day find another
Who will embrace that dream like a new found lover
And the dream will lovingly reciprocate
But sadly for us, it will be too late;
Yet to ease our minds, we will call it fate.

The mind is such an incredible power tht it literally expands whatever it touches. When we are faced with a challenge, obstacle or problem, our tendency is to nurture it. We talk about it. We describe it vividly. We monitor its progress day by day, imagining how much it is growing and how its effects are devastating every aspect of our lives. What we are actually doing is giving the problem more value than its worth. When confronted with a difficulity, we must immediately shift our attention from the problem to the solution. We can think, speak and bring the best possible outcome into existence by focusing on where we are going, not on where we think we are.
~Iyala Vanzant
Have you ever imagined something very terrible, that never materialized, or was nothing like you thought it would be? So often in life, when we are faced with challenges, we let our mind focus so heavily on the problem, that our mind can not expand to come up with the solution.
The fear in facing challenges sometimes overwhelm us so much that we become physically sick. Once we become sick, we are forced to focus on our health, and the problem is not so important anymore. Allowing fearful thoughts to control your mind will bring on sickness and illness, both of the mind, body and soul.
We have to constantly be aware of our thoughts when we face life’s challenges. Only when we focus on the solution and let go of the fear, will be able to defeat the challenge. Also, ninety percent of the time, the fear we dread is only perceived and never materializes.
When I was in middle school, I was scared to death of going to school the next day because a bully had threatend to fight me. I lay awake all night worrying, imagining my teeth being punched out and my hair being pulled out. When the morning came, I had a stomach ache due to the enduring worry. Now my mother was very keen to my emotions, and she knew something was wrong. She must have sensed that I was having a problem of this sort. She would not let me stay home! She said, you have to face your battles in order to move on in life.
Well, to make a long story short, I went to school and I faced my bully. There was a fight; I lost. But the lost was not as bad as I had imagined. I still had beautiful teeth and lovely hair. In fact, I gained respect for standing up to the bully; and she and I became good friends eventually.
So I say to you my friends, face your challenges; don’t avoid them. Don’t imagine the worst and blow up your problems. The future is never quite what we imagine it to be. What we know now about tomorrow is only a fraction, if that much. We so often see the worst in our problems. We also forget that everything changes. No heartache, bad times, bad luck, good times or anything else will last forever. Stressing on problems will make you sick–such mental stress can actually activate that cancer cell that we all have . Focus on the solution, and not the problem! (If there really is a problem; most likely not!)
Peace, Love and Light to you and yours . . . .
