I’ve been very busy, but I wanted to take the time to repost the following riddle. Hope it nurtures your soul’s desire.
The following riddle was inspired by a dear friend and fellow blogger, Jodie who pens as Paisley , in her recent writing, entitled Life Shrinks and by fellow blogger and a man with much wisom, Mark (To Be Me), over at The Naked Soul in his recent article entitled, Take a Look at the Means to the End . Thanks for the inspiration friends!!!!

Come in, my love! Step into my parlor…
Allow me to paint you in technicolor…
My parlor is elegantly furnished in splendor fashion;
Whereas, I can transcend your deepest, passionate, passion
I will tantalize and dance with you throughout the night
All else will be placed on the back burner in my light
All goals will be reorganized for my sake
I may cause, love, happiness, jealousy, frustration, even heartbreak!
Most times until you capture me; or I you….
I will grow, I will infuse, I will magnify and brew
Yet sometimes as much as you crave my hot embrace
I simply dissipate from your thoughts–leave abruptly without a trace
And you shant even miss my crimson face…
It’s a funny thing that once I’m captured–once we converge
I’m reincarnated into another whimsical, soul stirring urge
Seems now you don’t find me as delightful as your mind imagined
Yet I’m still the same, wanting spirit that once pumped your adrenaline
As cold as Ice, as Hot as Fire……

Repost for myself; as mine own worst enemy seems to be creeping in more often, here lately…… Do you battle with your own worst enemy too? If so, remember your best friend is always there to comfort you.
Thought for The Day: Have you hugged yourself, today? ~CordieB
This poem was inspired by a very, very good friend and confidant, who often shares with us her own worst enemy and her own best friend over at Just Paisley and Why Paisley . Also, a fellow artist, TekkieBrek, planted the seed for this poem with his beautiful artwork, shown in reduced size below.
Always by Your Side by TekkieBrek
Mine own worst enemy and mine own best friend…
an infinate circle of sainthood and sin…
have always been with me; from beginning to end
through good times; through bad times; thick and thin
Both have tugged at my soul since God only knows when. . .
Mine own worst enemy screams words of hurt and dispair…
then my best friend comes to my aide with comfort and care
she hugs me ever so gently; caresses my soul
whilst mine own worst enemy digs a dark hole
into the core of my heart creating disbelief
in the beauty of life; thus making it hard to concieve…
a life worth living; a love worth giving…
then mine own best friend again comes along
she kisses my spirit; sings me a beautiful song
of love and joy; bright sunny skies
she reminds me of the falsness of the hurt, pain and lies…
that mine own worst enemy so often spews…
she opens the funny pages in the mist of bad news…
Yes, she awakens my spirit and rocks me to sleep
as I moan, as I tremble, as I lay, as I weep…
She caresses my head; massages my tired, aching feet
Sending mine own worst enemy into a silent retreat. . .
where mine own worst enemy gathers strength for another blow
launching me once more into a wreckless, dispairing low
Yet, I endure with patient vigilence for the love within
to give renewed strength, courage and wisdom to mine own best friend . . .

speaking of joy by ~marielliott
I am the soft tickle of bubbles blown in the air
I am the wind gently billowing through each strand of your hair
I am the lucky discovery of a lone four-leaf clover
I am the ecstasy of the first kiss from a new-found lover
I am the the amazed eyes upon the first look…
Of newborn babe, straight from mommy’s nook
I am the amused, confused on a roller coaster ride
I am the quiet majestic of the ascending tide
I am sweet rain gently falling to the ground
I am the whispers of the leaves heard without sound
I am that which comes so often; yet we don’t understand…
the blessed dawn, as sunlight blankets the land
I’m seen in the stars, shining ever so bright
I’m heard in the voices of lovers each night
I’m felt in the kiss of a rose on a nose…
and the sweet, sweet aroma of that fragrant rose
I am laughter on hindsight of not going berserk
I am a hug and fresh sheets after a long day’s work;
The sun peaking through the clouds after a pouring rain storm
The rainstorm after a drout of love transformed
I’m more valuable than all riches, and everything
I exist in the little things and what they bring
I am the sensation of a Popsicle on a hot summer’s day
I am the innocence of life and love in children’s play
I am an Angel, often found in the eyes of a girl or a boy
I am most mystical, not egotistical, yet so simplistical…
I am….. (click below for riddle answer)

Possibilities Are On the Horizon - CordieB
There are vast possibilities on the horizon; It’s up to us to manifest those possibilities into realities!

What Is, Is.
The nature of my blog tags often draws individuals who are spiritual, deep, and quite inspiring; but on that same token, it also draws many individuals who are searching, depressed, and looking for light in the depths of their perceived darkness. I’m emphathetic to all of these emotions, as I too have experienced most of the feelings I often see on many of my fellow blogger’s pages and comments.
Often, I see personality traits that lean toward the inspiring, enlightened, and enthusiastic about all of life. The sky could be very well be falling, yet these individuals will see the positive in such.
But there are often times where I see personalities that lean towards the darkness, the depression, the truely pessimistic approach towards most of life’s issues. I often want to simply hold these individuals up and let them know that all will truely be ok. I sometimes do not understand why it is that they do not see that this too shall pass. . .
But, in the interim, I am reminded, that we are all individuals with different experiences, and our experiences form many of our perceptions.
And so, for today . . . I will simply deal with the present moment. Because, what is is. How I deal with the What Is is a reflection of how I feel about my self at this very moment. There are times when I choose to look for the possibilities…it is where dreams are manifested…but it is also where nightmares are manifested…depending on my frame of mind at the time.
I often wonder what it is about us that determines what we lean more toward. There are truely those who relish the darker side of life. The darkness, depression, and sadness, gives them a certain melancholy of life noir that makes life more interesting for them. Then, there are those who truely relish the light. These are the optimist…those who see the rainbow after the storm, the light at the end of the tunnel–all the time.
But in reality, life is filled with ups and downs. We will have our good moments and our not so good moments. But as human beings, I feel we must strive to endure with a sense of love for life…no matter the circumstances. Our love for life must reflect love for all life. . . so that life will continue for all. You see, what is, is. But if we look around us and take in more of the other is’s other than what is in our own mind, we might begin to see What Is in a different light.
Look at nature today, nature Is. Feel the warmth of the sun today, the sun Is. Gaze at the stars tonight, the stars Are. Watch the moon tonight, the moon Is. Examine individuals walking, talking, whispering. . . come out side of self for a moment today to truely experience What Is. Experience the allness of allness. Experience life as if you were God overseeing all creation. . . listen to the small sounds of the small animals. Look at the blade of grass sway in the wind. Take a closer look at what really Is. . . it may give you a perspective about life you never really gave thought to before. You may come to the realization that life Is. . . . forever changing!
“The only thing constant in life is change" ~François de la Rochefoucauld
“…A mind not to be changed by place or time. The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven.” ~John Milton

Once upon a midnight blue
When you were me and I were you
And everything was tried and true
A dark spirit of our selves shown through
Though my eyes were brown and yours were blue
We at first appreciated the differences in hue
Why they were different, we had no clue
But embraced the beauty, through and through
Then on that midnight starry night
The gods awakened, causing stress and fright
Fear was something we had never known
Whether close together or all alone
We had all we ever needed or ever would
We could achieve anything that ever could
But on that dark night, once upon
The gods became bored of creation . . .
And so the games of life begun . . .
"How can we make them not forsee
That they are one and all as we?
How can we make them entertain
If they know that all are one and one’s the same?"
And so the god of unimpressed
Purposed to put forth a simple test
No pain was known to men back then
It was invented to see how best
Two lives would deal, and who would win
Pain produced me; thus I produced what you call sin.
Sadly the test failed miserably
Soon you became you and I became me
And so the gods changed destiny…
of how life was suppose to be.
This spirit often called out of name
Whose first intent was to bear blame
To make you look at me as I
And question differences to why
We were not exactly both the same
This spirit questioned right from wrong
And high from low and short from long
Discarded the weak, embraced the strong;
And though we both stood side by side
And knew no thing of foolish pride
This spirit borne proudness so great
That pride turned quickly into hate
As pain was never in the original plan;
For any living creature, including man.
Back then we were much like the beautiful tree
Who gives all of herself and love just to be . . .
And co-create in God’s creativity….
No pain is felt by the morning glory
Who each morning tells a most lovely story
The grass is not pained by the trample of man
She embraces the walks on her bountiful land
I’m told the Creation God attempted to correct this aweful woe
By instilling in animals, knowledge of everything they’d ever need or know…
But most humans remained retarded in their abilities
To see the the forest through the trees…
For despite having knowledge to eliminate pain’s dark shadow
Pain’s offspring remained, Who am I . . . (Click below for Riddle Answer)

I have been blessed through out the years
by kin and strangers alike who have caught my tears
Who have gave me strength; eased my fears. . .
Into their basin of unconditional love supreme . . .
and turned those tears so magically
into a blessing; making sad eyes gleam
who have turned nightmares into dreams . . .
All webs in life are weaved together
we all are one; from begining until forever
though we may be close or lightyears apart
our actions send endless waves rippling to all hearts
So often we may not realize
What we do and say travel endless miles
When we feed the hungry; or simply give a smile . .
However we relate to our fellow man
is chain reacted across the land and back again
Thus far I’ve been blessed beyond compare
From the whole of humanity, timeless; everywhere
And so I feel compelled to pass on a blessing
to aide humanity in not regressing
into the darkness of separation and instinct
because were’re all connected by a common link
So though you may be close or very far,
your light warms humanity like a distant star
Without you there would be no me
Thus, I’m grateful for your being, eternally
For the love you share, I say UBUNTU
I am what I am because of all of you!
Sun brings forth life as a distant star
As such, I AM BECAUSE YOU ARE!

What happens to our dreams deferred?
Unacted upon desires that are seldom heard . . .
Do they wash away with the crimson tide . . .
By the sands of time which can’t be defied?
What happens to our dreams alas. . .
which we sadly allow to simply pass. . .
or hold at bay for a better day
Do they await our return or simply fade away?
What happens when we put our dreams on a shelf?
Do they wait patiently for us to find ourselves
Or do they float away to an unknown dreamland
Where dreams deferred converge and reemerge once again . . .
In the heart and soul of another child-like spirit . .
with the heart to reclaim our neglected dream’s merit
Who will take the forsaken dream and caress its face
And abandon not its saving grace
Allow not our dream to become deferred
Unnurtured; Seldom talked to; Barely heard. . .
For without our love, passion, and concern
Our dream will whither; thus our heart will burn and yearn. . .
Yet the dream will one day find another
Who will embrace that dream like a new found lover
And the dream will lovingly reciprocate
But sadly for us, it will be too late;
Yet to ease our minds, we will call it fate.

This is my daughter, Michelle. This picture was taken about 2 weeks ago. This is a poem she wrote about 2 months ago . . .
The Day Ahead By Michelle Hudson
When the rain is pouring down . . .
Sometimes our vision gets cloudy . . .
Everything around us is muggy,
And we don’t want to adjust,
Because we can’t see the road in front of us
So we sit down and collaspe.
Just staring down at the dark, cloudy, wet road ahead
Just wanting to curl up in bed.
Praying for sunlight.
So we hug our pillows tight
Until our next sign
of Sunlight creeps into our lives.
~Michelle Hudson
And I said to Michelle, "This too shall pass." And as we see today, it certainly did.
For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven ~Ecclesiastes 3:1
God Bless you all in all of your many seasons of love and life. . . CordieB.

In a physical world, I am with all practicality an illusion
I have been sought for throughout the years; often the culprit of mass confusion.
I am always in your reach; always in your grasp- if only you awaken
I’m a free gift, hardly every opened fully; always yours for the taking.
Some find me in humbleness; I’m theirs to obtain
But if one is not careful, I will be lost in their minds once again;
The world makes it hard to clasp unto me;
To live without conditions; to simply be.
To keep me you must be able to master ones self
So few humans achieve me completely, in spite of themselves
They live each day dreaming of a life of love with me
In an imperfect world perfected by eternity
They strive to achieve me with their materials and money
They fight wars to sustain such, in the world of milk and honey
Young women leave fathers to gain me, only to their dismay
I’m lost to their passion of simply moving away
But so soon they will loose me to another, be it husband or lover
Or the career they grow to distain, it’s usually one thing or another
Men foolishly leave their wives in search of my light
Saddened only to find more of the same in hindsight
For I’m a true illusion if one can’t shed all the layers
Of needs, ambitions, false securities and prayers
Of things that are held and things that are seen
Things that surround you – if only in dreams
The things you desire most will cost you my price
Although they seem innocent, and …all comfy and nice
Those things that you work for a slave to encompass
For which the newness or beauty seems never to last
You dare to dream of a place far away from the hustle and bustle
To a place that’s so siren and quiet; no one to bother or trouble
But you find with your tranquility there’s another price to pay
Like the luxury of running water or even a neighbor to stop by some days
For every choice you make, you might imagine you’ve lost me again
But it’s the ability to choose that really makes me your friend.
Though you fight for me; strive for me; but ‘less you die for me . . .
I am the precious gift of free will based on your limits, unlimits, and reality
You may cry many nights, fight for your rights; stand and die for your kingdom
Sadly, that unremitting need to hold tight to earthly possessions will always cost you- (Click below for the riddle’s answer)
