~~~~~~~
Looking through the mirror into the window of my soul
I see a floating being, with stories yet untold
I see a bouncing baby and a woman turning old
I see a heart so full of warmth, yet at times so bitter cold
Looking through the mirror into the window of my being
I see a woman whose lived her life as though she were sightseeing
Who never truly embraced the world with zest of fearless flight
Who carefully lived each day in surity she’d sleep through another night
And awaken to the dawn; weary eyes appearing bright
Reaching into the mirror to grasp a clear vision of myself
I grasped a fleeting spirit, that nearly took my breath
She hauntingly laughed at me; wicked laughter laced with fear
She cursed me as a liar, all was not as it appeared
She said I was like an empty house; no personality of its own
My inhabitants, friends and lovers, often made this house their home
I changed my personality to fit the status quo
My decor changed with each owner, and disappeared once they would go
I could not grasp this entity, although she was so close and clear
Each time I thought I had her, she’d up and disappear
And then someone would magically arive with the gift of identity
So for a time I’d harbor such, and thus it would become me
The mirrored being took a seat, looked me straight into my eyes
She watched me closely in her stare, and straightened her demise
She said, for once be true to self; and you will have a clue
Of the beauty of the spirit and the beauty of what is uniquely you
Do not be afraid to be what you know is deep within your soul
Release the fears of rejection, release the need to gain control
Dance with the fairys in the night, sing lullibys with the moon
Walk in the rain in mornings, sleep till the afternoon
Speak your truths with love and passion; don’t do it just because you’ve heard its right
And you will find the answers to questions that haunt you in the night
But most of all my kindred one; you will find the light
Moon in the Horizon ~CordieB
Do you realize that no matter who you are, what you do, or where you are today on Earth, if you look up to the sun or the moon, you will be looking up to the exact same sun or moon that I look up to each day and night? In fact, we may very well be looking at it at the exact same time! Amazing, isn’t it!
Alike and Not
Simplify and ratify
Feelings that you bare
Understand how really grand
These emotions are we share
All mankind is blind
To how much we are alike
The human race is from one place
We all circle the same light
The thing that makes us individual
And not at all mutual
Is our dear sweet inner spirit
That keeps our fires lit
Without this singleness of soul
We’re like the ant in his hole
All puppets on a string
To the one who grabs the ring
Alike yet different each
As we walk along life’s beach
We share and learn from one another
Family all we are each other
We are all connected to this vast universe. Sometimes we need to recognize and become aware of how much we are alike in order to settle our differences. My blog friend at ”Fresh Squeezed,” tagged me to answer the two questions below.
A. List 5-10 things of commanility that you have in common with the human race and/or nature.
B. List 5-10 things that you may have in common with the human race and/or nature.
My answers are below.
____________
A. List 5-10 things of commanility that you have in common with the human race and/or nature.
1. We all have seasons for which we must pass. And there is a reason for them all.
2. We all must contribute towards the survival of our specis.
3. We all grow older, and eventually die and errode from the effects of mother nature.
4. We all depend on nature to survive and the love of other human beings to thrive and flourish.
5. We all were conceived from a host much like ourselves.
6. Everything originated from a supreme being, who marvelled in his creation.
7. We all have done things of which we are not proud.
8. We all have accomplished things of which we are proud.
8. None of us knows the answers to everything.
9. None of us are perfect in the world’s view; but we each are perfect in God’s plan.
10. We all have something to contribute to the world.
B. List 5-10 things that you may have in common with the human race and/or nature.
1. Some of us, including myself, may want to travel to unseen places before I’m 50.
3. Some of us, including myself, want to grow in the ways of Jesus Christ, by showing more compassion, love and understanding towards our fellow man.
4. Some of us, including myself, may love watching and/or listing to the roar of the ocean, the songs of the birds, the whispers of the winds, beauty of the flowers, the smell of honeysuckle, and all of God’s other awsome, wonderful gifts bestowed to us.
5. Some of us, including myself, may have hurt other humans for no legitimate reason at times.
6. Some of us, including myself, may have been hurt by other humans for no legitimate reason at times.
7. Some of us, including myself, may love seeing joy in the eyes of other humans, especially the children.
8. Some of us, including myself, have lost a love one to death; but will remember that person’s love forever.
9. Some of us, including myself love spending time with our significant other alone.
9. Some of us, including myself, need to take time out just for “me” sometimes.
10. Some of us, including myself, wonder what is the purpose of life sometimes.
Answer: This is the crossroads to which you have come. The future of the human race depends on which way you go.
If you and your society believe you are inherently good, you will make decisions and laws that are life affirming and constructive. If you and your society believe that you are inherently evil, you will make decisions and laws that are life denying and destructive.
Laws that are life affirming are laws that allow you to be, do and have what you wish. Laws that are life denying are laws that stop you from being, doing, and having what you wish.
Those who believe in Original Sin, and that the inherent nature of man is evil, claim that God has created laws which stop you from doing as you wish – and promote human laws (an endless number of them) that seek to do the same.
Those who believe in Original Blessing, and that the inherent nature of man is good, proclaim that God has created natural laws which allow you to do as you wish – and promote human laws that seek to do the same.
What is your viewpoint of the human race? What is your viewpoint of your Self? Left entirely to your own devices, do you see yourself as being able to be trusted? In everything? How about others? How do you view them? Until they reveal themselves to you, one way or the other, what is your basic assumption?
Now answer this. Do your assumptions further your society in breaking down, or breaking through?
I discovered this poem on the internet some years ago. I have kept it with me, because it is, to me, the best definition of unconditional love I have seen. If any one knows who the author is, please advise, so that I can give the proper credit.
What is unconditional love?
It strikes me as this,
The ability to always accept
Loved ones as individual
Human beings, human beings with
Singular dispositions and traits
That may waver at times,
Depending upon personal circumstances,
But doesn’t make that person
Harmful, evil or bad, just human.
What is NOT unconditional love?
Being automatically used in disguise,
Taken for granted and advantage of,
And constantly accepting and denying
Mistreatment as isolated incidents,
Or continually letting and forgiving someone
For always doing me wrong
Because they NEVER change their ways
Does not constitute the grounds
Of unconditional love in my eyes.
Unconditional love to me,
Is the ability to differentiate
Between when a person’s
Contrary actions directed towards me
Are honestly or intentionally abnormal,
And accepting my dear beings
At their best, lovable dispositions,
During their dark, depressing moments,
And throughout their mood swings,
Because these changes happen at times.
Sometimes it’s the hardest thing,
To stand and deal with someone,
When it seems like they are
Depending upon or burdening you purposely
Because they are hopelessly frustrated
With their own personal issues,
But the way to tell if
Someone is genuinely relying on me
Is by knowing them well
And understanding who they are.
A bond that is severed,
Is one that never existed.
To err and to fluctuate dispositions,
Is natural and is human.
To embody and practice unconditional love,
Is to know which persons
This is appropriate to apply to
And treat them as such,
Realizing who they themselves are
As human beings and individuals.
A hard lesson to learn
Is sometimes when people say
Things that hurt or insult
Me at that particular time
Is to not take it personally
Based on their current demeanor
Or attitude from whatever trial
And tribulation they’re going through
Because they may not mean it
At that particular time.
The sidewalk isn’t always dry,
But when it occasionally gets slippery,
That doesn’t change its underlying structure.
A person may experience some strife
Which can temporarily transform them
Into non-desirable, annoying creatures,
But when we realize they’re human,
And understand them as individuals,
We’ll know they aren’t harming us
And we can show them unconditional love.
