Away in a manger a long time ago…
a babe was born who longed to bring hope.
Three fourths of humanity worship the birth of this child
Yet, so few of us walk the path of the meek and the mild…
So few of strive to love our fellow man…
Though we hate and despise, still we worship the Man
So often we use Christ life’s purpose in vain
So few of us love our neighbors as Christ so diligently taught
We’ve turned his his walk into commercialism;
that can only be brought…
In stores to perhaps give a temporary smile
to those who can afford it…perhaps for a while
While others lay hungry, homeless and poor
we bustle and hustle to all of the stores . . .
Stressing ourselves to buy more, more and more…
We walk into churches each Sunday for Christ’s Sake
pointing fingers at those who have lost all their faith
due to heartless believers who so often spur hate
and pay all our dues for a religious retreat
yet somewhere a family is cold; abandoned, with nothing to eat
We speak of our Jesus with majestic love for the Man
never practicing that which He stood for– love for all humans
In fact we even practice hatred in His Holy name
and swear it is Christ-like to inflict such pain
Christ walked this earth to teach us to love
In hope that we not destroy humanity and the earth thereof
When will we practice the lessons taught by the babe who was born
in a manger to parents who were poor, ostracized and forlorn . . . ?
Let us remember the reason for the season by loving our neighbors and start treating others as we would have others treat us. Christ was about LOVE, PERIOD. All other agendas we may have are our own. Let us strive to keep this in mind this season and all seasons.

I received this via email today from a very good friend… I simply had to pass it on!!!
The Buzzard: If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and is entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space to run, as is its habit, it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top.
THE BAT: The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.
THE BUMBLEBEE: A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will be there until it dies, unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom. It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself.
PEOPLE: In many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and the bumblebee. We struggle about with all our problems and frustrations, never realizing that all we have to do is look up!

You and I are so closely woven, that not even the greatest love or lust can ever really permanently separate us; Our magnetism is so strong, that I will eventually find you and you will eventually find me.
You may desire to change me, to mold me into what you would have me to be. There are times you may think you’ve suceeded. However, in retrospect, you would only be fooling yourself;
My mysterious illusion may cause you to go through great lenghths in a futile attempt to find out exactly what I’m all about.
You may run in the opposite direction in an attempt to flee from me, but aha… I am still just a tad ahead of you! In your haste, you will certainly slam right into me.
You may have even seen a glimpse of me in a distant world, but my charisma is such, that you really couldn’t tell if it was in fact me. I saw your glimpse and awaited quietly for you to catch up.
I have cried for you and smiled for you. You are all that I have. In the realness of it all, I totally depend upon you, for without you I cease to exist.
You may hate me, love me or fear me. But usually, you treat me with total disregard. I simply want you to embrace me. However, when all is said and done, you will definitely accept me.

I was inclined to repost this today after reading Paisley’s blog entries entitled, Remember the Monkeys and and I wait . So often in life we wander with goals and ambitions – that really are expectations handed down to us by society, family, associates, etc. So I ask again . . .Who are we really . . .?Peace, Light and Love, CordieB.

I read a poem entitled "Helen" today. I thought to myself, what a beautiful poem. Of all the gifts that Helen’s husband could bestow upon her, even if he had an infinite store, the one that he knew was most valuable was to" give her back herself." He goes on to say, he would also provide his true self, if only he could find where it lay hidden and proved kind.

And you, Helen, what should I give you?
So many things I would give you
Had I an infinite great store
Offered me and I stood before
To Choose. I would give you youth,
All kinds of loveliness and truth,
A clear eye as good as mine,
Lands, waters, flowers, wine,
As many children as your heart

Than mine can be, all you have lost
upon travelling waters tossed,
Or given to me. If I could choose
Freely in that great treasure-house
anything from any shelf,
I would give you back yourself,
And power to discriminate
What you want and want it not too late,

Where it lay hidden and it proved kind.
As romantic as this poem is, I ponder, can anyone ever really take someone’s self away; let alone give it back? Or was Helen’s true self lost by chance, by her daily living? Was Helen even aware of her true identity? Did Helen loose herself once she was born? Was Helen born into a society, much like today, whereas it was almost impossible for her to really ever be herself? Do we instintively know good from bad? Do we intinsively know right from wrong? The poet, Helen’s husband, questioned whether he could ever find his true good self because it was hidden. Do we instintively know that chocolate taste good? Do we instinctively wear our hair long, or short, or are all these conditions which have been handed to us by society, family, the world–our environment? How does one get one’s true self back? To accomplish this state, do we not have to relinquish all preconceptions, judgements, predjustices, ideas, ideals and all we were taught and exposed to from the day we were born, perhaps even before that time?

Now, wasn’t that just awsome! I truly had never thought about regaining my true self to that degree! Almost everything we are is a reflection of something else! Once we take away everything, what are we truly left with? Rahul’s blog reads at the top, "O Absolute energy! O Ultimate consciousness! Grant me the fearlessness to be myself.
What a wonderful, blessed prayer!
So inspired by these writers, I decided to write my own poem today.

Who Am I
Everyone needs something
No matter who we are or how we think
No one can live without something . . .
Be it love, bread, air or water to drink.
Everyone’s a slave to something
But the choice is very clear
We can choose to what and whom we lend Ourselves …
So often in life, our choices root from fear;
For everthing we choose to let go
Another choice is sure to follow;
Jesus said, Blessed is the poor in spirit,
He knew that it is a blessing to truly be worryless;
To know that our Creator provides all of it…
He knew to have an unburdened spirit is the key to life beyond
The fallacies and mailadies, that plague us for so long.
To not worry about not having enough or having too much;
To truly be one with God and one’s-self is –To Be– Free– in-touch;
For, unless we can let go all cares, ambitions, hatred, external comforts, or anything . . .
We are merely partly slaves to ourselves and partly slaves to something. . .
What is it that you will be a slave to? . . .
That is the gift of Free Will God has given you . . .
So you feel someone or something has stolen the gleams
of Life from your eyes and invaded your dreams?
Only God can truely erase your true nature . . .
Which was within you from the begining; no need to mature. . .
Your Creator has given you paramount choices; Free Will.
But that’s only a fraction of God’s wonderment, still.
A curse if used in evil, A blessing if used to inspire. . .
But if regaining your true self is truly your desire,
To regain, reveal, and be your real true self,
You must be willing to let go of every negative, unloving else.
Release imbedded pride, judgements, illusions, lies, anger, fears, hatred, prejudice and preconception
For God’s love is your Alpha, Omega, Beginning and End, your true self, your Heaven
~Good Friday to everyone. It is through the teachings and love of Jesus Christ that I am able to realize the God (Goodness) within myself and the goodness in everyone of God’s creations; and know that our Creator provides all; Created all; and we originated in Him.

He should do it, she should do it. Absolutely, they should defininately Do it.
Do it now. Do it fast. Do it right. Do at night. Do it in morning. Whatever you do, make sure you Do it!
Do the damn thing!
Don’t do it. Perhaps Do it. Can’t Do it. Won’t Do it. Will Defininately Do it.
What should I do? What Can I do? Where can I Do it? How can I Do it? How can I not do it? Why should I Do it? Am I suspose to Do that! I’m not gonna Do a Damn thing. I’m gonna Do it even if it kills me.
I’ll show them I can Do it. Who can’t Do that. Only a fool would actually Do something that stupid.
She’s not suspose to Do that! She can really, really Do it! Can he really Do that? They are obligated to Do it. I can’t believe that she would Do such a thing!
When can I Do it? I can’t possibly Do it. At least, I can’t Do it now!. How will I Do it? Who will help me Do it? Should I Do it on my own? Should I ask for assistance to Do it? What if I can’t Do it? This will surely Do me in.
Why can’t I Do it? Why can’t you Do it.
Guess what we should all Do?
What?
Get off the toilet and refuse to let the Spirit of Do Do keep us knee deep in Deep Do Do.
How? Conversate and meditate with your Creator, "Creator, What is it that you would have me to Do? Creator, Help me Do what is pleasing to you. " Take some time to receive your Creator’s Response on what you should Do that would be pleasing to your Creator. You will see that by listening to your Creator and following your heart, you will have done that which you were destined to Do .

Jesus the Christ had a goal; to serve God. On that goal he remained focused. he had a purpose: to teach love. On that purpose he remained focused. He ad a mission: to demonstrate to people how to lovingly serve each otehr while serving God. To that mission alone, he gave all of his energy. In his own words, he revealed the power of having a purpose when he said, “But for this purpose was I born.” In essense, Jesus was saying to us, when your life is for a purpose, you will rise above all difficulties.
Focus on the goal. Focus on the purpose. Focus on accomplishing the goal. Each day hundreds of thousands of peopel get out of ed with no goal. Going to work is not a goal! It is an activity! paying bills is not a purpose! It is an activity! providing for a family is not a mission! It is an activity!
Your goal is the what of your life. The goal is not the place you begin. It is the place you end up! Your purpose is the why of your life–why you as an individual are moving toward the goal, the end. Your mission is the how of your life. Once you are clear about the what, the why and the how, you have the focus. You have something to live for that moves you into, through and out of the activities of your life.
We were each born for some purpose. Jesus was clear. He was focused. He mastered his mind and his life with focus. He was kind enough to leave us instructions on how to do what he did. He said, “Follow me! For the things I have done, greater things that the Master teacher left you instructions. you may not have realized he said do as I have done. Stay focused! Just for today, shift your attention from the activities of your daily life and discover your goal, your purpose, and your missin.

Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of information regarding Christianity and false prophets, etc. Yesterday, I read Ingrid’s blog entitled, Yep, He meant Everyone; (and I do agree with Ingrid on most of her points); I’ve received so many other emails on this subject, and I received this email today (It sounds more like hate mail, and is quite hateful in tone).

OK. I read this email, and I clicked on the link to see just what was going on.
My view: I have read some of the teaching of “A Course in Miracles, ” and my only concern is that for some people, this course may send them off the deep end. This course makes us really examine ourselves, our motives, our egos, and our actions. It should not be tried by those who may be psychologically challenged, or who have a history of mental illness without consultation from a professional.
As a Christian, I was saddened that we continue to put good people in Hell only because of their affiliations, lack of belief, different beliefs, etc. Don’t we have anything better to think about or do, (like helping our fellow man) other than damning other people who give so much to better our world. Do we honestly believe that nonbelievers and untraditional Christians who dedicate their lives helping others are more likely to go to hell than the Christian-child rapist, serial killer who confesses on death row, simply because he’s a Christian?
Since I’m somewhat tired of the dogma and it’s beginning to piss me off somewhat, the words I read yesterday from a fellow blogger and author, John Shore, seemed to be in divine order. So I shall passeth it on to youeth.
Top 10 Ways Christians (Including Me) Tend to Fail:
1. Too much money. It seems to me that a rich Christian is an oxymoron. Jesus was fairly abstruse about a fair number of things, but he was crystaline about Christians needing to give their all to the poor. In Luke 12:33, Jesus says, ”Sell your possessions and give to the poor.” At Matthew 19:21, he says, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor.” In Matthew 6:24, he says: “You cannot serve God and Money.” I just don’t see a lot of wiggle room there. And yet, somehow, we all keep finding just enough to allow us to keep all the stuff we love so much.
2. Too confident that God thinks we’re all that and a leather-bound gift Bible. I’d like to humbly suggest that we spend a little more more time wondering how we displease God, and a little less time being confident that we do.
3. Too quick to believe that we know what God really means by what he says in the Bible. The Bible is one extremely complex, multi-leveled work. We’re sometimes too quick, I think, to assume that we grasp it. Take this passage, for instance, from Luke 8: 9-10: “His disciples asked him [Jesus] what this parable [of the sower] meant. He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, ‘though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.’” Now, I don’t care who you are, or how many theology degrees you have, that is one thick thought. And that’s Jesus “explaining” one of the most accessible of his parables! Are we really all that confident that we always know exactly what Jesus meant by everything he said? Wouldn’t just the slightest bit of doubt sometimes be in order?
4. Too action-oriented. I think we Christians could stand to spend less time acting in the name of God, and more time reflecting on the (ever subtle) majesty of God. More passivity, less activity, I say. More meditation, less machination. More reflection, less correction. More contemplation, less administration. More mysticism, less cretinism. More prayer, less Bayer. More … okay, that’s enough. Sorry. I have rhyming issues.
5. Too invasive of others generally. It is my personal, humble, no-need-to-send-me-hate-mail opinion that we Christians are sometimes too eager to mix Church with State. They don’t (and again: just my opinion!) belong together. One is good for we Christians; one is good for everyone. As much as I personally would like it to be, America is not a Protestant country. It’s a Catholic country, and a Jewish country, and an atheist country, and a Buddhist country, and a Mormon country, and (yes) a Muslim country. It’s a country for everyone. Religion is a personal, subjective affair for the individual; politics and public policy is an impersonal, objective affair for everyone. Better to keep them separate. Fair is fair.
6. Too invasive of others personally. We Christians are sometimes too eager to get up into the faces of others about their personal religious beliefs. I know most of us believe that the moment someone who isn’t a Christian dies, that person is immediately herded onto the worst Down Elevator ever, and that we must therefore vigilantly strive to turn everyone who in this life isn’t a Christian into one. Noble sentiment! But what we seem to too often lose sight of is how impossible it is to talk someone who isn’t a Christian into being one. I think maybe we should spend more time “just” living as Christians, and letting God worry about the non-Christians. I’m pretty sure he can handle that job. He saved me, and that phenomenon sure didn’t have anything to do with anyone ever telling me I should become a Christian. Trust me on this: I was saved in spite of Christians trying to save me, not because of them.
7. Too quick to abandon logic. I think when talking to others about our faith, we Christians too often resort to a language and line of reasoning that leaves good ol’ fashion logic sitting on the ground behind us, waving a sad good-bye. “It’s true because the Bible says it’s true” can’t mean anything to a non-Christian, because (hurt though it does to admit it, I know) it’s such a manifestly illogical assertion. ”It’s true because the Bible says it’s true” is no more a reason for anything actually (as in objectively) being true than was your parents’ old, infinitely frustrating ”Because I said so!” As a logical argument, “It’s true because someone with a vested interest in it being true says it’s true” is Beyond Useless. Why in our dealings with non-Christians we so often fail to grasp that is a total mystery to me.
8. Too fixated on gays and lesbians. Can we followers of Christ maybe just stop already with the fixating on homosexuality? I know it’s a “hot button” issue. I know we understand our stance on the matter to be unassailably Biblical. I know we’re deeply concerned about the “homosexual agenda.” I know. We all know. Maybe we could just give it a rest for awhile, though? Even for just a week? Wouldn’t that be nice? It’s not like gay and lesbian people are going anywhere. They’ll all be there when we get back. Maybe we could just give them, and us, a rest for a minute.
9. Too insular. When I became a Christian, one of the things that most amazed me about Christians is the degree to which they tend to hang out only with other Christians. We should stop doing that. How are we supposed to share Christ’s love with non-Christians when we barely knowany non-Christians? Time to widen that social base, I say. (Plus, Christian or not, we still want to throw good, fun parties, don’t we? Well, let’s face it: The pagans have all the good music. We might as well invite a few of them to our next party. Maybe they’ll bring their CD’s!)
10. Too quick to condemn fellow Christians. It’s been my humble, limited experience that too many Christians spend entirely too much time thinking and talking about how wrong the beliefs and practices are of other kinds of Christians. Maybe we should spend a little more time thinking about how all we Christians are the same, rather than how we’re different. Maybe fundamentalist and “liberal” Christians have a lot more in common than we tend to remember, or reflect upon, or celebrate. Maybe if we concentrated a little more on our similarities, non-Christians observing us would have less reason to doubt that, at its core, Christianity is, in fact, all about love.

Forgiveness is not the apology of evil, nor the justification of mistreatment and offense. It is the evocation, the clamor of the victim to God saying : Oh Lord take from me any poison that is in my heart, since this is like the smoke that hurts and blinds my vision.
Life must not coexist with infinite hate, on the contrary, it must return to Peace. And when there has been affliction, physical and moral harm, then forgiveness is a miracle, which means the direct intervention of the Presence of God.
We all make mistakes and the human being goes wrong in many ways but when there is misuse of power, abandonment, or misery, then this does not go away in a moment and traces stay. Forgiveness has the wonderful aptitude to heal these deep wounds.
To forgive is really self transformation, it is like emerging of darkness, of death. Nothing can be compared to Forgiveness. It is the conciliation of heaven and earth, the annulment of evil, of sin, of pain, of conflict and even of death. The person who forgives, discovers in his heart that God exists since forgiveness is the understanding that allows us to receive the grace, which means, the Presence of God in the whole plenitude of the inner life.
