The Sands of Ebony Time Shows on My Face
The bitter – sweetness of life and love leaves its trace
From whence an infant of purity and subtle innocence
To the ageless beauty of a woman’s essense
The lines shown around my deep brown eyes
Map a life of much laughter, joys and cries
My hands are wearing down like melten butter
From years of living love; caring for self and others
The expressions on my face reflect so clear
Wisdom and insight gained throughout the years
Living and loving through thick and thin
Embracing God’s grace and mercy of love within
Sharing my gift of love with countless souls
Experiencing the allness of life as time takes its toll
On the temporary shell for my spirit as life’s novel reveals
More mysteries for the heart; if my Creator so wills
Reeping the blessing of so many souls
Gracious of the puzzle that makes life whole
For me as the time passes so quickly it seems
Like only yesterday, I dreamth my very first dreams
As the sands of time harmonize with the winds of fate
that causes all soul’s shells to disinigrate and dissipate
but love and the inner soul survives, energizes and recreates
Thus the cycle of life recycles to invigorate . .
The newborne babe who starts life anew
Through his eyes and cries he reaches out to me and you.
In the eyes of the young we realize life’s wonders beginning again;
Awsomely, were all intricately weaved in a bigger plan . . .
To ensure that love for life continues on . . .
By sharing love, wisdom and knowlege when we inspire and pass on. . .
the Hands of Ebony Time’s blessed love-life seed
To all kindred spirits whose souls we feed.

PS. If you read this on my pictorial blog; it has changed somewhat. Of course I didn’t change one of my most dearest reader’s favorite line in the poem. I write this to remind us that although age takes its toll on the body, love and time makes the spirit stronger indeed. Pass on your love and embrace the love of others to ensure that your spirit remains strong yet gentle. For one sweet day when the spirit’s shell is ready for rest, you will find peace, joy and comfort in the love you’ve given and received.

Only in silence can certain voices be heard
The fall of a dew drop; the song of the bird
The rustle of a leaf; the sparkle of a star
The whisper of a mother; the beat of a heart
Sh… sh… can you hear the wind singing to the moon?
Sh… listen to the butterfly flutter in mid afternoon
The ripple of a stream; the budding of a flower
The ticking of a clock in life’s final hour
The dance of a fetus; the pulse of a lover
The soul’s peaceful journey when crossing over
The strength of a man; the drop of a tear
The courage to overcome deafening fear
Sh… can you hear the ants working peacefully together
Sh, sh…listen to the echoes of allness and forever
The popping of bubbles; the pea in the pod
The breath of love; the voices of God

The Blood Tree, courtesty of ~Ksaad, under a creative commons license . Growing veins of sorrow and complications are the seeds that we have sown from our vengeance, hatred, racism, power and craving for more. So long for a cleanse.
There will be blood if we simply look the other way
There will be blood if we continue our lives the same way
There will be blood if the cycle of violence is not forsaken
There will be blood if a life for another life is taken
There will be blood if we continue to fight hatred with hate
There will be blood if we abandon solutions to rehabilitate rejuvinate
There will be blood if we neglect to teach our young to love
There will be blood if we don’t love our neighbors, inspite of
There will be blood.
There will be more blood.
There wll be an endless,
forever increasing,
cycle of blood. . .
untill…
there is no more blood.

Quote for the Day.
Deep inside even the most seemingly evil of beings lies a seed of love; it is that seed we must strive to rejuvinate and cultivate. When we hate the evil, we only cultivate more hatred ~CordieB.

My existence emerges quite often in the middle of the night;
Sometimes I bring anxiety; Frequently, I induce unrealistic fright.
Oftentimes I’m an instant reflex of a web of grave deceit;
Many feel I can be eradicated by disclosure; Allbeit revealed most indiscreet.
I was borne when humans went against their true natural flow . . .
I quickly grew enormous from false judgments which were sowed
Into the conscious being as a way to tame the actions
Of any action committed without perceived fair karmic reactions
Many occasions my existence is sparked by the master manipulators
Who use fictitious sliding scales of love as unloving validators
"If you love me you would do this; You wouldn’t do this if you knew . . .
I would never do such nonsense; because of the love I have for you.
You would go along with my way if you were down for me and true"
I’m sure you’ve heard these statements; perhaps you’ve said them too.
Know your self and love yourself and you won’t fall into the ageless trap . . .
Of the Master Manipulators who will trick you to take the rap
For anything that goes against your true heart in the name of loveless love…
And continue with the punishment until they rise abreast of and above…
The manipulation that was taught to you and for which you practice too
When you ask more from another than you know you would honestly want to do
I arise when spirit, mind, and actions are not on one accord
I bring traumatic injury to the mind; I cause such destruction; you can’t afford…
To keep me in your presence; as I’ll reek havoc on the spirit and the flesh
I’m the reflection and a reaction of being untrue to self – and perceived selfishness

This poem was prompted by Simply Snickers. The words for this week were: damp, decide, and droll.

Indecision by *moonmomma
Indecisiveness
Indecisiveness takes its toll
On the drollness and lightness of our soul
Made up minds lift the dread filled weight
lingering heavily on our fate
Indecision stunts our growth
though deciding we may loath
one must move through inconclusive’s brace
holding mind, body and spirit stuck in place…
till decisions can be made
life continues, low-keyed; afraid
knowing in the back of mind
choices must be made in time
Preventing souls from moving free
intensifying fears of what may or may not be
lest we move from fear to flight
we may never see the light
Though decisions may be wrong
lack of choice only prolongs
mending of spirit and self torn apart
when in dire doubt, follow your heart

I wrote the following poem for my daughter, Crystal, but feel the need to repost it tonight for me. Hope you don’t mind the repost. —Lots of love, C.

- Pink Heaven Crystal (My Daughter) By Cordieb. Don’t ask me why she’s wearing the umbrella, but hey it is a dream!!! (lol)
Dreams Deferred
What happens to our dreams deferred?
Unacted upon desires that are seldom heard . . .
Do they wash away with the crimson tide . . .
By the sands of time which can’t be defied?
What happens to our dreams alas. . .
which we sadly allow to simply pass. . .
or hold at bay for a better day
Do they await our return or simply fade away?
What happens when we put our dreams on a shelf?
Do they wait patiently for us to find ourselves
Or do they float away to an unknown dreamland
Where dreams deferred converge and reemerge once again . . .
In the soul of another child-like spirit . .
with the heart to reclaim our neglected dream’s merit
Who will take the forsaken dream and caress its face
And abandon not its saving grace
Allow not our dreams to become deferred
Unnurtured; Seldom talked to; Barely heard. . .
For without our love, passion, and concern
Our dream will whither; thus our heart will burn and yearn. . .
Yet the dream will one day find another
Who will embrace that dream like a new found lover
And the dream will lovingly reciprocate
But sadly for us, it will be too late;
Yet to ease our minds, we will call it fate.
~Written Especially for my Daughter Crystal and all you other dreamers out there, by CordieB
Quote for The Day. Don’t forsaken those dreams you truely desire. Dreams acted upon with love always manifest into realities one sweet morning! CordieB.

Art – Tree of life, By Keith Haring , 1985
The following poem was written in response to Simply Snicker’s poetry prompt. This week’s (Through May 10th) prompt prompts us to use the words, Jeer , Jump and Just in our poems.
Also, we are celebrating the life of American pop artist Keith Haring , who was born on May 4, 1958. A sample of his wonderful art is shown above. Also, visit his site. He was a most wonderful artist.
In light of the light-hearted, yet meaningful and deeply spiritual, nature of Keith Haring’s art. .. I thought I’d try a little light hearted poetry to accompany his work. Of course a spiritual lesson is spinned in the words too–I think. Anywho…
Jump Back Juicy
Jump back Juicy, have no fear
Just becuz they jab and jeer
can’t you see the time is near…
when yo eyes seez crystal clear
Jump back Juicy, dry those eyes
look into the bright blue skys
nature’s bout to make allies
of those boys who make you cry
Jump back Juicy; have no doubt
You’ze about to step on out
You’ze beginning now to sprout
Ain’t no need to worry bout
Nothin that those boys a saying
they just boys who likes a playing
pretty soon they be prayin
for the comfort of yo laying…
Jump back Juicy, let’s go play
it’s another pretty day
Picked you flowers round the way
What’s yo real name anyway…?

Thru the Fire ~CordieB.
Misaligned with my spirit
Disconnected from my core
And my ego was screaming. . .
Give me, More, More, More!!!
Empty feelings of needing
Disenchanted with my life
Whilst my Ego continued…
causing Strife, Strife, Strife!!!
Persevering the battle
Looking inward for relief
Yet my Ego remained…
causing Grief, Grief, Grief!!!
Tried to detach from all
Tried to let it all go
Still my ego was strong
She refused to let go!!!
Then along came compassion…
to my rescue she came…
with humility’s lesson
she revealed my true name
Thru the Fire, I emerged…
Free of judgement or blame…
Realigned with my spirit!
Reconnected with my core!
Love’s unveiling my true identity
As I explore; as I implore…
Love, she sustains… "Overjoy, Overjoy…"

Lover's Fantasy Island. . .CordieB
I love red roses
…and blue violets too
but, the best valentines
is time shared with you!
A walk in the park
A kiss in the dark
A cuddle by the fire
will always cause spark
a warm tub with petals
with wine on the side
a few candles lit
and you by my side . . .
no matter what day,
or what time of year
our genuine passion
remains crystal clear
So, no need to go out of your way
or find a card that can’t quite say
your true heartfelt sentiment
for your love is always evident
on Valentines Day, and Every Day!
P.S. Even when we’re mad, our love is evident!
Happy Valentines Day, G. Love Ya with all my heart, CordieB.

We’re an everyday family; quite familiar without doubt!
Although one often starts arguments, whilst another maturingly puts them out.
And the lightest sometimes blows her temper, but quickly quiets down
When mother speaks her peace; gathering everyone around…
We can quinch your thirst completely; then take your breath away!
Stability we promise; whilst burning energies counterplay;
We usually work together–an intricate balanced act….
Though at times our ego over feeds us; causing us not to interact;
Although you may often prefer one or two of us to another
If one were not created; the world you know would be a blunder
We yin and yang superbly; a beautiful well balanced family…
Our harmony is so transparent that you may fail to see . . .
Our fluid inner beauty; our solid grounded love…
Sometimes, flighty dispostion – bringing heat to all thereof
You exhale one of us each second; into you she gently flows…
One’s 65 percent your makeup; although you may not know. . .
One brings purity to impurities with the warmth of her touch;
Another provides homage to most of what you see; and everything you touch!
Dare not to underestimate us; we’re most powerful and vain!
If we suspect you’re disrespecting us; we’ll cause you plenty pain!
If you look into our eyes, we’ll most surely hypnotize–
Most find us quite alluring; many are simply mesmerized!
We are needed for survival; without us, perhaps there would be no birth
We are the four Essential Elements: Water, Fire, Air and Earth
