Possibilities Are On the Horizon - CordieB
There are vast possibilities on the horizon; It’s up to us to manifest those possibilities into realities!
The Woman and Her Mansions ~CordieB.
She lived in a house of…
Many Mansions
Countless Doors
Infinite Windows and
Endless Floors
~~~
Yet she confined herself to…
One small house
One small room
Her comfort zone…
Filled with unfulfilling gloom
~~~
Many windows of…
Opportunity came her way
Opened doors –
Yet here she stayed…
Afraid to leave
Her cramped comfort zone
Yet inside, she’d often
bitch moan and groan
~~~
Over time she…
Over-decorated her little room
With too much brick-a-brat
Familiar clutter…
A little of this, A lot of that
Obstructing her windows
Covering her floors…
Obscuring her vision
Blocking her doors…
Taking her breath!!
Out of control!!
Killing her softly…
Draining her soul…
~~~
Until one day she was brave enough to…
Release the shutters!
Open the doors!
Roll out the carpet!
Explore other floors!
Bask in the sunshine!
Laugh in the rain!
Experience the world
Through both joy and pain!
~~~
She began exploring her many mansions and…
Seek new adventures!
Become experimental!
Redecorating her once limited mind…
With knowledge and boundless potential!
"When mystics use the word love, they use it very carefully — in the deeply spiritual sense, where to love is to know; to love is to act. If you really love, from the depths of your Consciousness, that love gives you a native wisdom. You perceive the needs of others intuitively and clearly, with detachment from any personal desires; and you know how to act creatively to meet those needs, dexterously surmounting any obstacle that comes in the way. Such is the immense, driving power of love."
Reflections of the Dawn
I stood upon the crest of the highest mountain, Calling down to those who dared to follow.
That I had attained the greatest of heights.
But a voice from above called out to me:
‘Rest not upon your foolish pride for you have taken but a single step. And as you await those to come, there are those that patiently wait for you.’
~By Daniel
The above poem is one of my favorites. Each time I read it, it humbles me. It reminds me, that for each level of understaniding or wisdom I think I may have, there are those who await me to reach another level. Really, didn’t most of think we had all the answers at 15 years old. As we reflect back, we knew so very little. It also reminds me of the Book of 1st Corinthians, Chapter 13, versus 9-12, when Paul prophesised:
9. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10. but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
We really know so little and have so much to learn. We will never know all about this life until we pass beyond this life. Each day, if we keep our minds and hearts open, we will learn something more, life will become clearer, we will become wiser. But, like that teenager, we must open our heart and minds to learn, we can’t think we already know it all. Also, as we grow older, we can’t hold on to that old philosophy, ”you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” We can’t continually hold on to old ways; we have to open our hearts, minds and spirits to the new. We have be refreshed. We have to keep an open mind. If someone didn’t keep an open mind, perhaps the world would still be flat. We can’t think we already know it all. We have to be open to all possibilities. Honestly, we don’t know the true outcome of any particular event, until the event is in the present tense.
So, stop stressing on the past; we can’t go back, we can simply learn from those experiences. Stop stressing on the future as we now imagine it will be. We can’t even imagine all that is in store for us – we might prophesize, but we are only looking through tinted glasses. One day it will all be crystal clear! So, for now, let’s just enjoy the wondrous gifts that God has given us. This is a day that the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
Peace, Light and Love . . .
Only in silence can certain voices be heard
The fall of a dew drop; the song of the bird
The rustle of a leaf; the sparkle of a star
The whisper of a mother; the beat of a heart
Sh… sh… can you hear the wind singing to the moon?
Sh… listen to the butterfly flutter in mid afternoon
The ripple of a stream; the budding of a flower
The ticking of a clock in life’s final hour
The dance of a fetus; the pulse of a lover
The soul’s peaceful journey when crossing over
The strength of a man; the drop of a tear
The courage to overcome deafening fear
Sh… can you hear the ants working peacefully together
Sh, sh…listen to the echoes of allness and forever
The popping of bubbles; the pea in the pod
The breath of love; the voices of God
Good by my love, my seasoned friend
Perhaps we’ll pass paths once again. . .
Perhaps I’ll feel your hot embrace
like gentle rain upon my face…
Perhaps you’ll cause my skin to gleam
with heated days and nights like dreams
I miss your essence, crystal clear…
although you leave me every year
always returning with outward arms
as I await your flowered charms…
and yet I miss you ever so
for you entice my skin to glow
through fiery storms we have discovered
we persevere; we’re endless lovers
Forget me not, even in my slumber
Forget you not,
Repost for myself; as mine own worst enemy seems to be creeping in more often, here lately…… Do you battle with your own worst enemy too? If so, remember your best friend is always there to comfort you.
Thought for The Day: Have you hugged yourself, today? ~CordieB
This poem was inspired by a very, very good friend and confidant, who often shares with us her own worst enemy and her own best friend over at Just Paisley and Why Paisley . Also, a fellow artist, TekkieBrek, planted the seed for this poem with his beautiful artwork, shown in reduced size below.
Always by Your Side by TekkieBrek
Mine own worst enemy and mine own best friend…
an infinate circle of sainthood and sin…
have always been with me; from beginning to end
through good times; through bad times; thick and thin
Both have tugged at my soul since God only knows when. . .
Mine own worst enemy screams words of hurt and dispair…
then my best friend comes to my aide with comfort and care
she hugs me ever so gently; caresses my soul
whilst mine own worst enemy digs a dark hole
into the core of my heart creating disbelief
in the beauty of life; thus making it hard to concieve…
a life worth living; a love worth giving…
then mine own best friend again comes along
she kisses my spirit; sings me a beautiful song
of love and joy; bright sunny skies
she reminds me of the falsness of the hurt, pain and lies…
that mine own worst enemy so often spews…
she opens the funny pages in the mist of bad news…
Yes, she awakens my spirit and rocks me to sleep
as I moan, as I tremble, as I lay, as I weep…
She caresses my head; massages my tired, aching feet
Sending mine own worst enemy into a silent retreat. . .
where mine own worst enemy gathers strength for another blow
launching me once more into a wreckless, dispairing low
Yet, I endure with patient vigilence for the love within
to give renewed strength, courage and wisdom to mine own best friend . . .
Venom by !DagoDesign on Deviant Art
Vicious words spit from
the venomous tongue
are far more deadly
than the bite of a
poisonous snake…
for at least
the snake’s
bite
can be mutated
with
anti-venom
…yet…
the bite of the
poisonous tongue quickly,
and deliberately
kills
the spirit-
the venomous tongue
often leaves
permanent damage
to the hearts of the multitude
Quote for the Day: Sticks and Stones may Break my Bones, but Words Hurt Long After the Initial Blow. ~CordieB.
In reality, words can and often do hurt. However, the spiritual individual is able to counter hurtful or false words with self knowledge and truth. The spiritual individual will not allow the ego to manefest the hurtful words in his or her heart; for she or he knows the beauty in their being and the truth in their hearts. Also, those who live by the spirit, will not spit hateful words to others or himself. For it is the ego that constantly battles with the spirit to speak hurt, hatred or falsehood, in order to make the ego feel good about itself. Remember when mom told you that kids teased you in order to make them feel big – well she was correct in her wisdom. Some adults have not grown beyond their childhood and continue to tell lies or say hurtful things simply to make themself look big by making others look small. It is sad actually – the insecurities and fears of some people. The next time you are tempted to say or speak a hurtful word, remind yourself that it is your ego and insecurities which tempt you to do so. Beckon the love, truth and wisdom of your spirit to manifest itself. When we practice walking and talking in the way of our core self (spirit), and what we know to be true in our hearts, we will neither utter nor absorb hurtful and/or false words.
My existence emerges quite often in the middle of the night;
Sometimes I bring anxiety; Frequently, I induce unrealistic fright.
Oftentimes I’m an instant reflex of a web of grave deceit;
Many feel I can be eradicated by disclosure; Allbeit revealed most indiscreet.
I was borne when humans went against their true natural flow . . .
I quickly grew enormous from false judgments which were sowed
Into the conscious being as a way to tame the actions
Of any action committed without perceived fair karmic reactions
Many occasions my existence is sparked by the master manipulators
Who use fictitious sliding scales of love as unloving validators
"If you love me you would do this; You wouldn’t do this if you knew . . .
I would never do such nonsense; because of the love I have for you.
You would go along with my way if you were down for me and true"
I’m sure you’ve heard these statements; perhaps you’ve said them too.
Know your self and love yourself and you won’t fall into the ageless trap . . .
Of the Master Manipulators who will trick you to take the rap
For anything that goes against your true heart in the name of loveless love…
And continue with the punishment until they rise abreast of and above…
The manipulation that was taught to you and for which you practice too
When you ask more from another than you know you would honestly want to do
I arise when spirit, mind, and actions are not on one accord
I bring traumatic injury to the mind; I cause such destruction; you can’t afford…
To keep me in your presence; as I’ll reek havoc on the spirit and the flesh
I’m the reflection and a reaction of being untrue to self – and perceived selfishness
This poem was prompted by Simply Snickers. The words for this week were: damp, decide, and droll.
Indecision by *moonmomma
Indecisiveness
Indecisiveness takes its toll
On the drollness and lightness of our soul
Made up minds lift the dread filled weight
lingering heavily on our fate
Indecision stunts our growth
though deciding we may loath
one must move through inconclusive’s brace
holding mind, body and spirit stuck in place…
till decisions can be made
life continues, low-keyed; afraid
knowing in the back of mind
choices must be made in time
Preventing souls from moving free
intensifying fears of what may or may not be
lest we move from fear to flight
we may never see the light
Though decisions may be wrong
lack of choice only prolongs
mending of spirit and self torn apart
when in dire doubt, follow your heart
Me, courtesy of CordieB
I am who I am. . .
Am I who I am or. . .
Am I who I think I am. . .
or
Am I who others think I am
or
Am I a collective version of both?
Am I the same as I was yesterday
last year,
5 years ago?
Has there been regression
or
Has there been growth?
Have I learned from my experiences
or do I still do
the same things …
the same way
and receive
the same results
which I know are not
the results I really want. . .
or
Am I beginning to try different things
or do things in different ways
which bring forth new experiences
new lessons . . .
new blessings
But all in all. . .
I am who I am . . .
and I am exactly as my Creator
would have me to be at this very moment!
ok. . . it’s another moment. . .
and another. . .
I wonder how much I’ve changed……. since two lines ago?
That I’ve changed is a wonderful thing to know. . .
for…anything that is not changing…
can not in fact be living…
So, I am…a changing being…
